SwitftFox é um browser que basicamente é o Firefox optimizado. Todos os plugins e extensões para o Firefox são compactiveis com o SwitftFox.

“Binary code optimization

* compiled with the highest level of compiler optimization, rather than optimized for binary size
o Swiftfox is compiled -O3
o Firefox is compiled -Os[2](which is less than -O2).
* binaries incorporate additional instruction sets [4].
o Intel and AMD: SSE2, SSE, MMX, (not generally SSE3)
o AMD only: 3DNow!
* optimization specific to the build microprocessor architecture
o Intel: Pentium 4, Pentium 3, Pentium M, Pentium 3M, Pentium 2, Prescott, Celeron (various)
o AMD64: Athlon64 (32bit binary)
o AMD: Athlon XP Duron Sempron, Athlon, K6-2
* compiled with newer gcc (Firefox 2.0 uses 3.3.2, Swiftfox 2.0 uses 4.0.4).

Explicação do autor:

“Binaries provided by getswiftfox.com are not licensed MPL and therefore are not freely distributable. The license to use Swiftfox extends to the user that downloads Swiftfox from this web site. No one may repackage or redistribute Swiftfox binaries in any form without prior permission. Any questions relating to licensing can be directed to me and I will do my best to assist. Please also note that the licensing restrictions were put in place to safeguard Swiftfox users against the possibility of obtaining tainted versions from anyone who may wish to maliciously alter the binary and redistribute it. Yes, that makes Swiftfox “non-free” in the Debian sense but it will always be free of charge to all users. If anyone has a better solution I would be glad to hear it.”

Uso e recomendo. Nota-se uma boa diferença em relação ao firefox normal. :)
